One third of Broxbourne Borough Council in Hertfordshire, England is elected each year, followed by one year without election. Since the last boundary changes in 1999, 38 councillors are elected from 13 wards.[1] On 14th September 2010 the Local Government Boundary Commission for England (LGBCE) announced a review of the electoral arrangements for Broxbourne Council.
In November 2010 the LGBCE announced that it was minded to recommend a future council size of 30 elected members, in 10 wards, elected by thirds.
In October 2011 the LGBCE confirmed that, from the May 2012 election, the council would consist of 30 members elected from 10 wards. [2]
The May 2012 election would be a whole council election with the usual arrangement of election by thirds resuming in 2014.
